Social Isolation: Day 21
Geese like to make a racket
just before they land,
as if their giant shadows
were not enough to clear the way.
They are the loudest
creatures out today,
honking at we humans,
so subdued beneath them.
Small knots of family stroll,
couples fish,
kids on bikes race by
while parents work
to catch up.
All spread far apart.
And the odd pink
peeling trees. If I knew more
I would name them,
but none of us
knows much just now.
A different walk
beside a different creek today.
In other states
it might be called a river.
