Social Isolation: Day 30
All of a sudden,
I get multiple new offers
for life insurance and debt consolidation.
I would prefer I didn't.
I prefer that foxes
would not stalk the ducks.
I prefer the spring snow
would melt into the grass.
The way is not difficult, I read,
for someone without preferences,
but I prefer to have them.
I prefer the poems that children write
and the many roads I drive
to reach their classrooms.
I prefer the paths that
wind beside the creek
where willows wave
their new green wands, or
peter out in woods
and cause confusion.
And I prefer to keep on traveling,
difficult or not.
